HOSPITAL OUT-PATIENT APPOINTMENTS AND IN-PATIENT STAYS AND GP/CLINIC VISITS

We can take clients to Out-Patient, clinic, or GP appointments and support them whilst there even for complicated investigations such as scans or orthoptics.

We can support adults who lack mental capacity or are very anxious whilst they are in-patients. We can take the pressure off parents/carers and the nursing staff by feeding someone, keeping them entertained, or staying with them through the night.

If it is stressful for you or your disabled relative to spend time in hospital we can provide support workers who are familiar to the ward environment and routines who can support yourself, your relative and can act as an advocate. With all the best will in the world nurse's time with each patient is limited and it is hard for wards to provide 1:1 support for patients. Hospital based staff may not be aware of the challenges facing adults with ASD or the need to keep to a routine as much as possible for adults with learning difficulties. We can also keep your relative entertained during their in-patient stay.
